Habbo Hotel Happenings Friday 20th April 2001 KEEPING IN TOUCH Habbo Hotel is all about meeting people and hanging out with your friends, old and new alike. It's fun and safe, as long as you always meet up in the hotel and not in real life. So that you can keep in constant contact with new-found friends without giving them your email address or mobile phone number, we've designed the Habbo Console. It sits at the bottom of your screen and once you've added other Habbos to your Friends List (send them a Friend Request from your Console), you can send them totally private instant messages, SMS and emails whenever you like! One of the cool things about the Console is that you don't even need to open it to see if you've got any messages or Friend Requests waiting for you! As soon as you've checked in to the hotel, they're displayed next to the Console icon at the bottom of your screen. SENDING MESSAGES To send a message, highlight a friend in your Friends List - you can send to more than one friend by selecting severalat once - and click on 'compose a message'. Then you can choose between Messenger, SMS and email. Messenger sends an instant message, which is brought to your friend's attention by a sound alert from their Console and a flashing '!'. Instant messages are great if your friends are in the hotel, but if they're not why not ask them to join you with an SMS or email? When you send SMS or emails from the Habbo Console you can't see your friend's mobile phone number or email address. Likewise, they can't see yours, so you can all feel safe from unwanted contact. Although instant messages and email are free, SMS cost 1 Habbo Credit each (that's just 10p, the standard cost of text messages). Just make sure you've got some Credits in your Habbo Purse before you try to send one! MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR MOBILE Habbo Hotel works brilliantly with mobile phones. How? Well, if you've included your mobile number in your Habbo ID, all your Habbo Friends can send you SMS from their Consoles (without knowing what your number is). You can also use it to buy Habbo Credits. To find out how, look at the instructions in your Habbo Purse. To add your mobile phone number, click on 'Update my Habbo ID' and enter your phone number. Make sure you put the country code first (for the UK it's +44) and then your whole phone number without spaces, missing off the first 0. For example, if you are from the UK and your number is (07801) 123456, you would enter +447801123456. OLD FRIENDS = NEW HABBOS Here at Habbo Hotel we find it difficult to believe that you haven't told all your friends about the hotel, but if you've somehow forgotten to mention it, let us tell them for you. Just follow the link below and type in the email addresses of all your friends who haven't got Habbos of their own and we'll send them an invitation. We won't keep their addresses once the invitations have been been sent. No sooner said than done! http://www.habbohotel.com/invite.html YOUR SECRETS ARE SAFE WITH US Privacy is something we take very seriously in Habbo Hotel - we don't share your details with anyone. No one can find out your email address or mobile phone number through their Habbo Consoles and we won't tell them either!
